    Wave Professional Corporation

    I am NJ licensed Optician. I have an NJ Licensed Otolaryngology who want form Professional Corporation with me and want to hire NJ Licensed Optometry. Basically, He want to run Optometry practice by hiring NJ Optometrist. My Question is, Can an NJ licensed Optician be shareholder in his Professional Corporation? As you may know that an optician is one of the branch of an optometry. Please guide / advice me what best way for me to become shareholder.

    Dispensary in NJ

    NJ has a few strange laws regarding practice ownership. Check the ophthalmic dispensing regulations carefully. Possibly the ENT and OD may form a PC and you may not. There is a separation of "Church and state" in NJ that may require you to lease space from the PC and not be a part of the PC. You will probably have to have separate space from the OD as in a distinct separate entrance from the public spaces of the building
