Nice Cindy!!! Looks like you are playing with your manual settings a bit more?

There is a picture that you took in Williamsburg that I absolutely love and I am using it as my sample photo to help me understand the photoshop program that I have. I hope you do not mind me modifying it, again, it is just because I am learning how to use the program and I will not sell it!! Can you e mail me the full quality photo so I can fiddle with the full size? <--I am learning Sepia stuff right now as you can see. If you do not mind, please PM me so I can give you my e mail addy that excepts 10MB files, thanks. If not, I understand and no biggie..

    Pics from the Philippines

Just got back from a 2 week eyecare mission in the Philippines with Third World Eyecare Society. It was an amazing experience. I highly suggest that if any of you get the chance, take the time to volunteer your skills. It reminded me why I love working in this field.

The mountain is the Mayon Volcano, considered by some to be the most perfect cone in the world. Our group photo is with the mayor of Tacloban, the city where we were working. And we blew out our frame warmers (forgot about the electrical adaptors), so we bought hair dryers... Works just as well.

I meant to post these for Snitgirl, months ago. Now that I have snow in my background it feels good to travel back to PEI. These are from this summer.

Thanks Jedi, I enjoy photos very much so... The church photo is super cool. Even though there are dark clouds above it, the way you took the shot gives it a feeling of peace.... well to me anyways.. Also I like the first photo and how the colour (colour -practicing my canadian ways) has green at the top, then the different colours of brown and then green again on the ground, then brown again then water... I really like the colours in this shot.

thanks for sharing, post more please!!!

The shot of the church was really surreal. It was raining all around us except for the church, where it was sunny. I took a lot of great shot of churches in PEI. Though, I don't consider myself religious, I appreciate the fact that many of them have stood for over 100 years. There were some tombstones by that church from the late 1700's.

The photos have to be under 800x600, there is a file limit too I believe it's under 125Kb.

Thanks Snitgirl! I'm a very amateur photographer, so I'm always a little surprised when I manage to take a shot like the palm tree one. I just wish I took the time out to take more clinic photos.

These are really old now, but here are some photos from my RAMV trip to Guyana in February 2004. The waterfall is Kaieteur Falls, an absolutely gorgeous place!

I'm a bit embarrassed to admit it, but I'm using a simple point & shoot camera: Fuji Finepix A200. Doesn't even have an optical zoom... :o

Hoping to upgrade once my trip and Christmas bills are paid off.

I think that is what I have, too. I take myself to the beach every year for a long b-day weekend and it was raining one Saturday and I went to the mall, took my film in to be developed and bought it. They had a lot of cameras on clearance and I asked the camera guy (it was Ritz Camera) if you were me and had some money to burn (bonus money left) which would be the best camera. He showed me the Nikon with the lens and it was $300 on sale...SOLD!

I have had it since April '05 and am still learning about it. I only found the macro button on the lens about 3 months ago. I could not understand why it had a close up feature and I got blurry up close. Saw the macro button and thought what is this and OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH......:hammer:

Thats the one Im talking about, and it is a awsome bit of kit. I have done weddings with it, and it is pretty faultless - once you get to grips with all of the settings on it. Definatally worth ignoring the on-board flash and getting a SB800 though. I use a F70 35mm, and i love the way the lenses interchange between the 2 backs
