Someone had posted instructions on how to get info on website traffic thru Google. I followed the instructions and was able to get the info I needed. Of course, what with short, medium and long term memory going to hell in the proverbial handbasket, I now both forget what the instructions were, and where they were posted.

Help please??????:o :o :o

To find out how many OptiBoard pages are indexed by Google, I type this in the search field:

site:optiboard.com

What is the significance of indexed pages? Does it represent traffic to a site?

The more pages you haave shhowing up in Googgle and the other search engines, the more likely that someone will find one of your pages whenb doing a searcch.

Prior to upgrading to vBulletin 3, Google had only indexed less than 200 OptiBoard Pages. Now it fluctuatets between 20 and 40 thousand pages. What I don't understand is why it sometimes goes down since I do not remove very many OptiBoiard threads (spam only.)

It goes up and down for some reason. I've seen it lose 20k links then bounce back up a few days later. The overall trend though is that the indexing is increasing. It's at 63,200 links right now.

Google gives you a website ranking which is based on quality and reciprocal links pointing back to your website.The best ranking is a 10 (Yahoo) commercial sites usually do not get higher than 6. You can download the Google toolbar which gives you an instant ranking for every website.
