    Ray-Ban sunglasses

Here's a trip down memory lane...

A friend of one of our opticians came in the other day with a pair of Ray-Bans. His mother bought them for him years ago; he still has the original box and the tag is still hanging off the temple announcing the "new B-15 gradient mirror lenses". It's an Outdoorsman II, never worn. Does anyone know what year this model came out??

    Thanks.

    Long time

G-15 lenses in single and double gradient have been around for quite a while. Lg Metal II, OUtdoorsman II and Sportsman II probably released in late 70's early 80s. They were larger models of popular RayBan Styles at the time. Its a shame when memory starts to go!! :bbg:

I remember selling hundreds of Ray-Ban aviation styles (the only ones in the late 1950's) with greeen lenses, and the frames were actually first class " Golf Filled" quality. Later on they became glod plated and then advanced to gold color crappy frames.

Thanks for the answers. This pair is definitely brown B-15; did that come out at a different time than G-15?

We tried to call B&L Canada, and they only have catalogues going back to 1986, so they have no idea when it came out. I suppose it really isn't a big deal, but this guy is curious.
