Angry Berdel Sferoflex ... GRRRR .....

A customer came in yesterday with a sferoflex hinge that was broken - I told him I was a bit surprised because in my experience I have seen very few every break.

Then, I got to looking at it ... and discovered that the frame (a newer model) does NOT have the special compression ball bearing type of spring hinges that I love about sferoflex ... but the "regular" kind ...

    GRRRRRRR .....

    Just so you are aware

For the last four years Sferoflex frames have had models that do not use the large ball hinge ( I checked back to the 2000 catalogue). The majority of the line still has the hinge that you describe.

Lux still makes Sferoflex frames in Italy and they are marked made in Italy. If Lux makes a frames in China, they are marked made in China.

Whenever a European manufacturer finisishes frame made elsewhere, as for example only making the temples and put them on fronts that come from elsewhere they have a habit of marking them made in their "homecountry".
