    Anti Reflective coating

I have a strange question....Has anyone had someone been told that anti reflective coating is not reinbursable under their flex dollars.

I have filled out a many form and supplied necessary receipts(coded correctly)that have been. I had a patient who's company has refused to pay stating only cosmetic.

Why don't you give the company a call and educate the person in HR about how AR improves the optical performance of RX lenses?

If they have a flex spending account, it shouldn't matter what options they have chosen since most flex plans pay a set amount. Anything above and beyond that amount is usually the patients responsibility anyway.

Next time don't break the lenses down ala carte. Write down the total lens cost.

It sounds more like some kind insurance reimburstment and NOT flexible spending account.

I had never ever looked at my reciepts for Flex spendings!!!

And I have a lot of them!!!

I've never seen a flex plan deny any portion of eyewear- in fact, plano sunwear is sometimes covered by these plans...

Sounds like you either have a disgruntled HR worker who is trying to make everyone's life miserable, or someone who is really just too dim to understand what AR is. I agree with the suggestion to simply fold all the costs into one lens price. This is probably the way we should be selling AR anyway...

Good luck to you and your patient!
