I am on Carbon Leaf's website right now and am listening to their newest album. Very ggod by the way.

Question: Are there any files of the songs being stored on my computer as I listen?

    Lee,

The music files are more than likely played through a temp internet cache file from within your web browser .The files could reside (depending on the file) on your hd until you close the browser....................after that it's bye....bye...:)

Let me be more blunt. I want to copy the files for my own use. John R is on the right track. Can I do it without using another program?

nope you need a program to copy the music to a format that can be written to disk.
You could alway just stick a mike in front of speaker... Not very good quality though.
