For where i am, a nylon suspension is refered to as a nylon frame , so as not to confuse with a 3 piece rimless.

nylon is still available, as far as i knew, mainly in cheaper pairs, if i remember right. but all plastic frames come under the heading shell frame

nyl-tags are shell frame half eyes, that have been cut, and had nylon thread added to the bottom, therefore having a standard bevel in the plastic, and having a nylon groove in the base

but this is simply my understanding

in a world of optics whereby everything is supposed to be standard , there are a few problems in terminology!!!

eg even with a forma, or template, it is known elsewhere as a pattern.

and todays question is what sort of prescription is prefered for different places, do you use minus cyls, plus cyls, or even toric specification?

too many questions? any of this need more explanation? then let me know!!!

James
