How many of you are selling "computer progressives"?
Which brands are you using?
Any special tips on fitting them?

There are a number of good computer lenses on the market today. Access by SOLA, Tact by Hoya, Office by Shamir, Zeiss RD. I would suggest you contact your lab rep and ask them for the specific information on the lenses, how to fit and which one is best for the specific situation your patient has. Access has two fixed focal points, Intermediate & near, Tact is designed like a progressive, as is Office (or Desktop as it's also called) and Zeiss.
Reporting in with good results from Zeiss RD.

Desktop has been a huge hit at my office. Especially the 3.0 version with the LIF tint and AR coat.
Sold a pair of DeskTops last week. The patient loved them.
For several years I have been preaching that opticianry is shooting itself in the foot by seeing one Rx and thinking one pair of glasses .... ah but a super-duper, generation 13 progressive, with tint and UV and AR and high-index mounted in "designer" frames and about $500 to $700. While this may be good for our gross or net it is not necessarly best for the patient.
Almost all presbyopes could find benefit from a "Room distance" (borrowed from Zeiss) lens. Just as we have told our patients that all this other stuff is good for them and in their best interest, we need to do the same with "computer" lenses.
The manufacturers have come up with some great products. From Technica - I still onwn one - to the newest "office" stuff. Just consider it another great peice of computer hardware.
I use RD a lot, but it is not the only good product. Access and others have great benefits.
Keep up the good work. Don't sell your patients short.
