doesn't the weight give it away?
A few years back I put some soft lenses in that had been soaking in bad solution for several months. Within an hour my eyes started to sting and when I took out the right one I literally had to peal...
Thanks chip.
I might be wrong but I think for a plus rx magnification is good for the eyes ... because bigger print, etc. is easier on the eyes ... as I said wearing my aspheric 1.74 at work, on...
What exactly is it about a lense that decreases minification/magnification?
Is it aspheric design?
Is it lense form?
Is it high index?
I have 2 pairs, one aspheric 1.74 and one best-form...
Doesn't asphericity fix all of the visual errors introduced by the flatter lens form? :D
:D :D :D
... sorry guys forgot to mention my 5d base out prism ... which does give me considerable trouble with my +6 rx in 1.74 lenses. The sharpness of the vision is definately affected by the amount of...
what about optical quality? I made the mistake of going for the thinnest lightest thing that money could buy and ended up with lenses that gave me eyestrain because the vision was not good enough...
doesn't all this stuff apply equally to best form as well as aspheric?
Over the past 1.5 years I've tried several amounts and distributions of base out prism and I've not really noticed any issues with hand-to-eye coordination. What do I notice is that when the...
good for the customer because more competition means lower prices, but not good for the customer if new lines change as frequently as fashion clothes lines ... and then 2 months after purchase an arm...
Try spending several hours reading books, newspaper, etc. with print similar in size to that of the PC monitor. If you still get the headaches then the lenses are the problem.
You dont have any...
I watch it too :D Here in OZ we've had 3 different series. Perhaps someone else on the board has a customer with some ties to Hollywood that might be able to put you in contact with someone that...
Which one are you using for Finalite - since this has a good abbe?
So you just send the frames to a lab in another country right ... just like you would if you lived in Australia and wanted Nikon lenses ... the frame goes off to Japan and comes back about a month...
I knew it what just a matter of time before someone mentioned this :D
I have some aspheric lenses as well ... when I hold the glasses about 10 inches away from my eyes I can see the bubble...
I know they are both spherical because that is what I purchased ... both opticians have confirmed they were. Prism thinning is something I don't know much about ... is this how they can grind the...
as I said earlier, both the CR39 and the 1.67 are best form spherical - the only real visible difference is that the CR39 has thinner edges.
optigrrl, any experience with the nulux ep design in 1.6 eyas material?
With such a strong rx, my advice, for what its worth, would be to pick a better material with a higher abbe value. I've had no end of problems with these types of lenses because of chromatic...
I agree entirely Dave ... 1.67 is the refractive index of the material and 1.67 will always = 1.67 ... unless the units change of course :D
The new frame is actually slightly bigger. Anyway,...
I know they are glass, but was under the impression they were Nikon Pointal 1.67 ... as apposed to just straight crown glass. I wonder if there are any markings on the lense that might give it away?...
the frame sizes/shapes are similar ... I'd guess a similar size blank would be used for both. The CR39 are thinner at the edges than the "1.67" - probably done to a knife edge, but there is...
I think I've worked out why my old 1.67 are the same size as my new CR39s ... they are not 1.67 ... they are crown glass and somewhere along the line somebody made a blunder
I always thought...
