Well yes, asymptomatic patients definitely don't need correction. But what if the only symptom is just a slight discomfort or a minimal head tilt?

    Should mild phorias be corrected?

I've seen doctors who prescribe prisms to at least 50% of their patients and other who think even moderate phorias need no prism correction at all.

At what point would prisms be useful? Does it...

    Meaning of "worn addition"?

Since last week Hoya Mystyles arrive specifying the worn addition. Example below. What exactly do these numbers mean? Is the actual addition 2.22, 2.28 or 2.50? I ordered these for a vertex distance...

I know this is late but I would check if she lifts her chin while measuring the fitting height. I'd also compare the vertex distance between the new and old frame.

Hoya Workstyle Zoom and Screen are fantastic. I've also used Hoya Sync 3 0.57 with great results for those people whose computer screen is very high up and close.

Very helpful, thank you. Do you put happen to know how Hoya and Polyvore apply UV400 in their CR-39 sun lenses? And Ray-Ban in their crown glass sun lenses?

How long do UV coatings last?

CR-39 sun lenses need a UV coating for full 400nm protection. So do the stock glass lenses of most Ray-Ban sunglasses. Does anyone know how long this coating lasts?

    Hoya 1.74 coating durability?

How does it compare to 1.67? I used to see more coating issues with 1.74 after 1-2 years but it seems to be improved now? Is it more durable in plus lenses?

Sync 5 has a 0.57 boost. It seems to be closer to 0.75 though, at least that's what I measured in my own pairs.

The 0.95 and 1.32 boost zones are about 3mm lower compared to the 0.57.

Thanks. Fitting height is 24 in a 38 B frame and sync 5 has a higher boost zone comparable to short corridor progressives, so it should work out great.

I have 3 pairs with these lenses, each fit...

Does Hoya Sync 5 have an inset?

I'm sure it has at least some but how much? I'm looking at the fitting chart but it does not show. I have a friend who's a high hyperope and as such he has to converge quite a bit for near through...

Both clients had progressives before with the same VD. Surely increasing inclination and lowering the fitting height a bit should improve optics?
