Dont know what it says in ansi but everywhere ive worked it was a given rule of thumb. Polished edges have a smoother surface. Not a very safe aspect in a safety frame in my opinion
The job came in from the lab that way. Just making sure its ok i know that in a regular safety frame its not ok to have polished edges
Polished edges in a grooved safety frame. Ok or no?
Uncut you're right didn't think of that
precisionlab Brilliant idea thanks
Found out the semi circles i was getting are cause by bubbles that form between the lens and the lens holder. Wonder if adding salt to my tints would help? Any thought?

I'll give it a whirl, Thanks!
when tinting a dark gradient lens on a gradient machine, is there a way to avoid the semi circular effect at the bottom of the lenses? As it is I'm bleaching out the bottoms (sometimes...
anyone know where I could sell a used mini II backside coater that needs rebuilding?
So, can any lab process 2.0 mm lenses for a Z87+ frame or is certification required?
That doesn't sound normal. if it was me I would take it back apart and make sure everything is clean. put it back together. might be an out of balance wheel. just a thought
The B&L model 70 was referred to as a vertometer. American Optical made the Lensometer. Marco 101 is referred to as a Lensmeter. I know I know "semantics"

Remember that all the trays in the lab were made of wood and the ratio of glass to plastic was 80/20

Thank you Randle!
I should know better. Dude I work with insists that it is. So is there a difference between impact resistance an tensile strength? If so what is it?
Is 1.67 hi index considered tone as impact resistant as polycarbonate and would you "upgrade " to high index for a patient who requires a balance lens
I like it
Looking for any experienced help? I've got a couple of decades under my belt
I use a Marco lensmeter and was wondering if anybody knows a trick to clean out what I assume are dust particles inside the lens housing? They are extremely visible when the power wheel is turned to...
