Does anyone know of a good frame that can be used for Youth offenders incarcerated that does not contain metal core in the temple?
they have a tendency to re-purpose them into weapons.
i agree with all that has been said. Mainly, I was just curious to how many opticians still remember how to and why to calculate the effective power and when to do so. Also, you'd be surprised how...
+1
I was fitting cataract pts back in the 80's at an eye hospital where we were fitting 15 -18 pair per day and we would be given the RVD.
the patient i have is OD -12.00-1.75 OS -18.25-1.75 refracted at 12mm fitted glasses at 18mm measured with a distometer. weird i know, but it caused me to wonder how many opticians would actually...
Curious as to how many out there compensate Rx's when there is a difference from the refracted VD to the fitted VD
The fog wipes i ordered from Hilco are called OptiPlus, approved for A/R and tested by Colts if i'm not mistaken
Hilco makes a really good anti-fog wipe and very affordable
I have one in my office now. a few years back, i was giving a lecture on freeform technology and pulled it and asked if everyone had one. needless to say, mostly blank looks with a few chuckles from...
I just ordered a large quantity of fog wipes from Progear. Hilco had them and worked quite well, but they have been out of stock for some time now.
we use a UV cabinet with UVC light to disinfect our frames. doesn't harm the frame and found that 70% isopropyl can turn the heat transfer frame labels black.
Check your depth and angle (that is if you can adjust the cutter angle)
In Alabama, we are able to process Medicaid in house. I stock Shore Poly which i can get up to a 4 cyl.
Why touch the front? if you have a plus high or high minus enough to leave a ledge on the front bevel you need to put a light bevel on it.
Very interesting, you are always quick to chime in but nothing to offer but sarcasm!
Robert,
Not sure if you are injecting sarcasm concerning filing away the Z87 designation. If not, and you are referring to safety frames, I do not believe safety frames can be altered in any fashion.
You obviously do not know very many if any optometrist. Since i happen to work at a school of optometry and work closely with future optometrists, I find them very intelligent and well trained, far...
from what i have read and understand, the process is different than 3-D printing frames. The 3-D printed lenses use droplets of monomer to create the lens and i believe there is a lab in one of the...
Is it on all materials, or mostly high index?
I agree, you should quote the price of the lens including A/R. We use package pricing which helps take the sticker shock off. when you package your lens options to include A/R, photochromics etc..,...
Many states now have this law in effect. In Alabama we can use any lab that is approved as a VSP provider lab. As far as reimbursements, they have not changed, whatever amount you are now being...
Another option is to look at areas where you would like to increase. Such as, do you need to increase the number of A/R sales or possibly photochromic sales, do you want to increase the number of...
they may suck, but have to admit they kept it light and fun.
While it may be basic, if you are new to the field, welcome. First you need to know the distance your client is sitting from their computer. Have them measure that distance and from that you can...
