Doesn't Hoya import their digital lenses from out of country? I may be crazy but I stick with lenses that are processed in the good ole USA. The labs we use generate their digital lenses in-country.

Chip, Check out the malpractice report recently. Can't remember if it the AOA journal or the AAO journal. VERY few malpractice cases considering that over 2/3 of people get eyecare from an OD.
I have seen some pretty bad cases from ophthalmologists so I wouldn't go too far down that bunny trail. From misdiagnosed frank glaucoma to brain tumors.
I think your best bet is to work with your current optometrist. It sounds like you have been happy in the past. If you clearly laid out your concerns and they still insist on progressives perhaps...
VSP is no saint but good lord its amazing compared to Specterrible.
If the only way you can attract patients is by taking terrible plans and low cost you suck at the business to begin with.
...
Was that sarcasm? Seriously why do providers sign up for such terrible plans? You realize that squeezes out the better plans.
The big question is why are you guys even looking at a provider agreement? Seriously?
The OD professional forums are "closed". There is a more recently created paraoptometric section open to opticians and other in the vision care field.
yup. I will be switching away form Shamir products.
Argh. This is crap.
Dang Luxottica.
When can we expect the Anti-Trust lawsuits against them. Someone needs to fine one sometime.
Anyone familiar with this? Is it a decent lens?
Thanks for your interest. PM sent.
Price lowered to $1750! If I don't get any offers for that by next Monday I will sell it to another waiting offer. This thing is fantastic especially if you have an older Hoizon III with the other...
This baby is pristine. Will work great with older or newer optronics edgers. PM any questions or offers. Thanks!
Absolutely like-new Optronics 4T Tracer for Sale. Used very little with no problems, scratches, or blemishes. Includes tracer, cover, manual, cables, and accessories. Asking $2000 OBO. New they...
David,
This is an open forum. Probably shouldn't have pricing.
They told me 36! That was on the phone, maybe a rep would be better.
I just looked into Kaenon and the buy-in is outrageous!
I'm working on completely phasing out Essilor.
With all politics aside, I don't see how this is good for patients at all. Especially their ocular health. For example, just today I saw a healthy 37yo WM with no complaints and 20/20 vision. Just...
Indeed they did. ODs in BC are now competing with "opticians" with 6 months of training for refractions. 6 months is a little easier than 8 years. I guess at least the ODs can dump their certified...
Dude these Canadians are crazy? I don't know how any optician could be comfortable doing stand alone refractions. Each person you refract could have undiagnosed glaucoma or worse. No matter what...
Wow
Alex,
You are in the UK correct? I think optometry is quite different over there.
OMDs can control their residency slots and control their supply. If they don't increase the numbers it would quickly equalize that they could stay plenty busy. Don't forget cataract surgery is the...
