you probably won't get a stamp on an uncut. It's usually applied after edging.

where would i place the plano prism? in between the lens and the blocking screen?
My blocker blocks from the bottom with the front curve laying flat on the table. I thought this type of blocking is supposed to help prevent these types of issues?
I have a FT35 with 8 up and 8 down prism. I am using an Optronics 3b blocker (lenses are blocked from the bottom). After blocking, I physically check the alignment based on the line on the chuck...
Thank you
Hello, does anyone remember what the formula is to calculate the power at a specific axis?
Was it Sphere + cyl (sin squared theta)
theta = difference between desired axis vs given axis?
Thank you everyone this makes a lot more sense. So will this actually be an issue for people who do not have symmetrical axes? What do we do in those cases?
Just looking for some insight on PRP and induced prism. Let's say I have an Rx at -5.00 and my lens has a drop of 5mm to the PRP. That would be 0.5 x 5 = 2.5 base up induced prism at the pupil...
Sorry to resurface this topic. How does it work when sending a patient their own glasses from Canada to the US? I have a pair stuck at customs asking for some drop ball tests but the lab doesn't do...
thanks
Maybe I used the wrong terminology or does it have to do with how the prism is calculated? The dr was just asking it on the lower minus instead. ex

How are these made these days? I was under the impressions that digital surfacing allows for this to happen on the back surface without having to order a special semifinished blank?
My lab can...
Thanks all. I like the idea of placing plano prism to neutralize the effect. Just need to have a bunch of high prism lenses made now... Also how do you align everything perfectly seems like quite a...
Does anyone have tips on blocking high power uncut lenses to get around parallax errors on a blocking machine? Also the thickness from it sitting on the holders and the angle of block placement...
I received a pair of glasses and was told to duplicate the height by the Optician
has nikon moved to 4 as well? Was 2 when I first started out.
understandable.. follow up question then.. How important is the drop? Is there a way to figure it out without knowing what the product is?
Does anyone have a resource of PAL markings? I have been using one from thevisioncouncil but quite often I run into lenses I have never seen before. Even just to know who manufactured it would be...
whoa this is neat. do the images react the same way a topcon / b&l lensmeter would? I want to use it as a teaching aid.
also to note: I am looking for live footage to demonstrate reading prism and varied cylinder strengths and still photographs will not suffice. I guess a digital SLR with HDMI output would suffice if...
For demonstration purposes, I am looking for a camera attachment that fits onto a lensmeter which can present the image for an audience to observe. Has anyone seen of such devices? I have had limited...
Just an update. I had another patient with the same issue. This patient had no vision on the right side bilaterally. Fit 20D base out fresnel prism on the right half of the lens and they noticed a...
Is UV cure used for dip coatings? I thought it was only spincoat?
Interesting. I will have to poke the lab about this further. thank you.
I get both patients who are obviously lying and those that I genuinely believe or not mistreating the lenes with this same issue.
