i work in a lab
exactly! the place where this comes into play the most is with larger cyls. but i think that its more of a non issue than i was thinking at first.
that has nothing to do with what i was asking. i'll give you an example.
Lets say i have a freshly edged and mounted pair of bifocals. everything checks out on the lensometer. all my axis's and...
ANSI standards say i can have up to 2 degrees of tilt in my multifocal lenses. how do i go about measuring those 2 degrees? ive looked all over for a layout chart and can find nothing on the web.
off the top of my head i believe the depth is 0.5 or 0.6
that makes sense, but the problem with that is it happens to non polar lenses too.

This keeps happening on our Alta-NX edger. looks like the groover is slipping off the lens and back on. has anyone else experienced this? We've tried a few things to fix this, like replacing...
Unfortunately that is not an option. The frame comes from the company owned by our CEO, and is considered to be one our "core" frames. So we will have them around for a while.
that all makes sense. is there an easy way to do that? We have an Alta NX edger. I have played with the settings for a few hours trying different things, but i dont see a way to do that.
Also, im...
the frame is zyl, and the it seems to happen with all lens materials
Frame is Zyl
we did that. it worked well with the lower base curves but once you get beyond a 4 BC they just wont stay in there. at least not without some extreme frame manipulation.
try (877) 518-8752. i have gotten a person on the line in under 10 minutes with that number. but it is very hit and miss.
Hello, I work for a small optical lab and we have had consistent issues with a specific frame. With any lens on a base curve over a 4, the top of the lens will always pop out of the frame when you...
