Barry, are you saying that poorly made eyewear and/or unproffessional and unethical practices dissapeared when glass lenses lost its predominance? That's a pretty broad brush.
Well said!
That's wishful thinking Barry. The NOCE is not required in any state except those who use it as part of their state licensing exams. The only way it stays relevant is if the big box retailers...
You are not wrong. Nearly every profession has state specific licenses but they seem to play nice together. Ours don't.
Without those little "fiefdoms", opticianry as an independent profession will all but cease to exist. There is no requirement anywhere for the certification provided by the ABO-NCLE. Opticianry will...
Leaving the ABO-NCLE as the ONLY certifying body and the ONLY arbiter of acceptable education. "One ring to rule them all"
Now anyone who doesn't understand this is naiive as hell.
Indeed.
PM'd you.
Could be anyone. The process began with a report from JLARC, the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee in 2018. Interestingly, the committee targeted a number of professions including...
I have been saying that we are our own worst enemy for years. And Warren, I have met very few Republicans who have my respect.

As I stated, the designs are proprietary, which means that if I told you then I'd have to kill you. And yes, the colors pictured are accurate. There is a definite color and they darken from...
Yes. Customized for Luzerne.

I am a rep.
I could not agree more.
The biggest issue in VA is that ODs and MDs continue to refer to employees as opticians, licensed or not. Publicly holding someone out as an optician in VA requires a VA...
So, you either have a split personality or simply refuse to answer my question. There has NEVER been a residency requirement to sit for the VA exam. There are education and apprenticeship...
