Hi, does anyone uses the new I profiler plus by Zeiss ? how much did you pay for it from where you get it ? I would like to make a comparison. thanks.
Brien Holden and Co has done a study on 200+ children in China using Myovision. How come they did not publish their findings in scientific publications?
If that's the case, I guess it only applies to high prescription lenses.
How about back surface progressive where the prescription is ground at the back surface? does it make any difference...
I dont usually rely on that as sometimes the full add might have been cut off due to the fitting height being too low.
I personally would not try to switch them from single vision readers (esp if they had been wearing one for years) unless there is a reason for me to do so. It would be even more difficult if their...
I recently prescribed a few high minus progressive lens (-6.00DS and above). When I tried to verify the add by (measuring the back surface), the reading did no show the required add.

There is actually a very quick and easy way to decentre the above lens (single vision stock) to achieve a 2 BO prism without having to do complex calculations (found this out from the lab).
Just...
Hi Harry,
thanks! I will try to go thru that thread and see if I can work it out. If not I guess I have to send the job to the lens and let them work it out. :o

Prism 2 baseout R and L

If you are getting a lot of AR problems consistently, it can't be due to the patients. it must have come from the lab.
Have you asked your colleague/ friends in other practice who are using the...
I have encountered all the above patients and after some education on progressive lenses, they still insist on getting a PAL. In situations like this, you just have to give them what they want.

I recently got some customers who were care quite unreasonable or demanding.
We had a elderly customer complaining that he can't focus well with his new glasses but had no problem with his old...
I think I have asked this before but not sure where.
I found that for most hoya progressive lens, power prescribed is not attained at the fitting cross but 1 or 2 mm above it (the standard...

A little bit of update regarding this patient.
Hoya lab remade 1 pair but same problem still exist. THe lab was trying to find out what the problem is but I think they gave up.
In the end,...
Haha...I agree with you, especially with such low add.
I have continued to fit the FD for the sole reason that it's "quite cheap" here in singapore. My rep has been telling me that his feedback...
Funny thing is, the hoya rep told me that patients will benefit more from the short corridor design than the long one. I think i got more complaints for the short design than the long one.
THey...
I got those complaints from RX that range from plano to myope of -6.00.
The most recent complain is from a myope of about -6 in one eye and -5 in the other.
I remember I had one pair in which the patient had to see 5mm above the fitting cross in order to see clearly. I sent the job back for remake and when it comes back, the patient can see clearly...
Has anyone else fitted Hoyalux FD (hoyalux ID lifestyle) besides me?
I am still getting this problem where patient complain that distance is not clear. And when I ask the patient to tilt his...
If that is the case, the power measured at the fitting cross will not be prescribed power for the distance? That would also mean that if we fit the fitting cross to patient's pupil centre, the...
I have checked the panto tilt. But it's not practical as it has to be bent alot and it's not easy to bend the frame.
So I guess a remake with -0.25 more to the distance would be best...
Hi ,
I believe u fit a lot of Hoya as well? Cos Hoya have a big factory in thailand.
I believe what you said is true, that hoya lens are 0.25 less minus at the fitting cross. This is the nature...
