Alright, thanks!
Ok, so I have a patient that bought her progressive lenses 2 years ago from Standard Optical and she's really liked the design. I called Standard to see if I could just make it easy and do use that...
I agree, the temples look like they're squeezing his head pretty tight. Maybe it is just the angle of the pic though. I never thought he would be a rimless guy. Seems to passive for him.
I think something like this would be helpful as well. I sometimes catch myself slipping in to what I call the "Walmart mentality"-trying to make the least expensive pair for a patient possible, but...
+1 to all of these ideas! I think hands on training is always beneficial and could benefit the newbies very well. It would also give the more experienced people a chance to share their knowledge...
I wonder how well that would work. Maybe it would help them realize how prone to exaggeration they are.
Apparently one of the girls at the office recognized it from a Claire's accessories shop. So yeah, that would definitely be a lower price point! haha!
We just put the doctor's wife in some and she loves them! She was complaining about her eyes being really tired at the end of the day, but progressives still weren't necessary. With her...
I just had a patient bring in the frame pictured in this link:

She wants to put bifocal...
We have a patient that can tell if her RX is off +/-.25 diopters or off axis by 2 degrees! Her Rx isn't that strong, but she for sure notices it as soon as she puts them on! So I agree with others...

I got an email saying that it would take another 6-8 weeks for the certificate and other information to arrive after receiving news that I passed. Congrats on passing! Maybe you could just show...
I actually learn a lot better when I'm sitting in a class setting. I like hearing questions other people ask and learning from them as well. When I'm taking a class on-line I definitely miss that...
+1... Especially to the part about compromise! Show Congress how it's done. haha!
I hate it when slow people don't get out of the fast lane!:running: But I do agree that we still need to involve as many people as possible in any initiative to move our field forward. Every...
One of my friends posted something from Coastal about a free first pair if you re-posted the ad or something like that. I wonder if Hillary got the same deal. :giggle:
We provide post-op cataract glasses through Medicare and we have value frames for the patients to pick from, like others have mentioned already. We allow them a basic lined bifocal or trifocal lens,...
bahahaha! Hilarious!
Very true! Donuts make up for any number of personality flaws!
My first job in optical sounds similar to what you are doing now, and I started at $12/hr. My boss was great though and gave quarterly raises based on how we continued to learn and make the office...

That's disgusting!! I just had a patient come in who wanted me to "fix her nosepad that wouldn't stay in place." Turns our she had lost the nosepad screw and instead of just going without the...
The salon is indeed a hair salon. I've been trying to get her to come in so we can go over things with her glasses but she keeps putting it off. If it's not bothering her enough to come in as soon...
Passed!!! Thanks so much OptiBoarders for your help during my studying!!! Quite a few things and tips we discussed were tremendously helpful! Time for a happy dance!
Finally! Thanks for finding out and letting us know. Hopefully all of our patience will mean good news for all of us! Good luck all!:wavespin:
