I don't know if Super-Hydrophobic contain PFOA, (I'll try to find) but don't compare a 12" Teflon Pan who are unsafe (For what I know) only if you overheat it at around 500-600F to an optical lens.If...

What an idiot, but at least, he have the best AR. And don't have to wonder about scratches. LOL
PM NO1EYEGUY twice in december, thinking about offering his product to my customers as promotion.
Never answer me back.
Don't think I'll promote his product. :finger:
I like that one !!!! :D
In the same idea, do somebody can tell me which residual color is better for the eye? blue or green ??
As the eye is more sensitive to the green. Is it better to let more blue pass than green. That...
I won't say hard coat. Scratch resistant will be more appropriate. For what I know (But I may be wrong) this is a product who just make the lenses more slippery. But not really harder.
I use steel...
Like Chris said 11 month ago about coating too hard, :finger:
" it will be the superb invitation for crazing and chipping." :drop:
With some big player taking the control of optic, that isn't surprising. Less competition=higher price.
I can tell you, doing a premium or a lower quality don't cost much more.
Small or big,...
Do you know if both side flaked or only the back. Sometime the surfacing lab spincoat the lenses and after ask for AR with dipcoat. Dipcoat don't stick on spincoated lenses. If the coating...
Zeiss no, Me yes.
Hardcoat cant be apply on edge lenses, but everything else (AR, superhydro) can be done.
Even if I prefer working with uncut lenses, a big part of my production is done on...
Did theses lenses are spincoated. Sometime if the lenses are thin in the middle, the suction cup who hold the lens cause a distorsion in the middle. Look by reflection if the neon are strait or if...
Acetone pass throw nitrile, use good quality latex instead.
 I can do it. And maybe recoat them depending of what kind of material.
Did you do tape test to be sure the adhesion is good ?? Most of the time, when you can see these chips, the adhesion is very bad and you need to change your UV lamp or your lacqer.
Agree with Chris, 90% sure this is humidity. In the lacqer or in the air.
If this is in the lacqer, not much thing to do. Change it. Somebody told me once you can add something who will catch the...
Yes, for what I know, alkaline products etch the mark. Too much etching and mark can't be see.
The laser burn microscopic holes on the lenses. For every hole you have a bump. This is what you see....
Agree with you, it's incredible what this guy can do. I bought a seg. round for Italy once add 1.50 and the customer called me back to give me **** because I sent him S.V. After I told him to look at...
:finger:This is not glass lenses, this is glass molds for casting.
Lacque may have a bit of blue to hide the yellowich. Maybe this blue is too much and mix with the yellow shift a bit this yellow to the yellow/green.
But dipping uv or other can give and heat all...
AR coating lab is looking to hire couple of persons at differents positions in the lab. If you have some experiences in optic and look for a new job, please let me know.
A customer arrive in weel chair. He felt from his roof and broke many bones. He was hangry because one lens broke when he felt on the concrete . :hammer:
A woman has to put new lenses in her old frame, but told the optician she absolutly want her old glass lens back. She didn't want the optician to do more money by melting them to make new lenses.
For AR, most of the product used are SiO2, titanium oxyde, or Zirconium oxyde and some other one, but these are the most commun. But the color is made by the thickness of every layer, not by the...
Heeyyy!!! NaOH is a good idea, being a coating lab, I use it everyday and never think using it as neutraliser. And I neutralise my old caustic with Chlore. NaOH + HCl= H2O + NaCl. It may be good to...
Just a little trick, when you strip AR in acid, Rinse the lenses in mix water and TUMS who is a good acid neutraliser. Unexpensive and neutralise very well.
