I just got a pair today. Quite impressed. Wearing them right now as I type in bed on my laptop. I have a 2.00 add. Softer design than my Zeiss Ind 2's. Low swim, low peripheral astigmatism. Good...
I'm a little worried now as if I do repeat iprofiler measurements, the cyl axis and amount might vary by 5 degrees or 0.25, especially on lower cyls. When you then let the software calculate the...
True, nothing beats a trial frame refraction. The golfing expression " you drive for show, you putt for dough" applies to refraction too. Phoropter for the theatre of the eye test, the trial frame...
In fact I do wonder, will it give better night time results than simply refracting with the room lights off? But I have a totally open mind. I was a bit surprised by a young staff member the other...
I got an iProfiler a week or two ago. Bought it second hand, the optometrist I bought it off has just bought the Rodenstock DN Eye equivalent. I believe the Rodenstock version does distance and near...
I think PD's are perfect with optikam, I just find it overestimates the heights. When the green balls appear level, the iPad seems to end up too high and the heights come out high. But we just tend...
Thanks lensgrinder, that all makes sense.
With what you've said, I'm not very clear on the corridor lengths with the Individual series. If you pick a Frame Fit Value of say 4 which means a 14 mm...
Just trying to determine which Zeiss Progressive gives the widest intermediate for desk top computer use.
Yes I know nothing beats an office lens, but out of these 3, which would win?
1....
Yeah, we've mainly switched from Hoya to Zeiss, but I have to say the one place Zeiss falls behind is with the computer vision. And yes I have a couple of pairs of ID2 in the active/intermediate...
Thanks Lensgrinder,
we dont have the energize range in Australia as yet. I can accept that the Energize Me PAL may be a soft design progressive. I just don’t understand what the Energize Me range...
Hi lensgrinder,
Which lens is the soft design?
THanks
[Speaking of Zeiss, I received my trial pair of the Energize Me PAL, and I have to say that it has become my favorite PAL for everyday wear. Great intermediate width that is comfortable enough for...
Just sorta switching to using Zeiss now. My Zeiss officelens arrived yesterday, the 2m near variation. I like it, probably more than Hoya iD Workstyle V+ and Rodenstock Ergo Room. But they are all...
Never a bad word on here about Seiko. Just wish Hoya would bring them to Australia but I guess they're worried about eating into the Hoya lines if they do.
Mystyle V+ I think you can specify different insets R and L
I think the corridor lengths for both types are the same. In Australia for both Clarity and Harmony we specify if we want the 11 or the 14 mm corridor.
Thank you for detailed post Rob. Do you guys still have the iD Classic/Instyle over there which here is positioned between Lifestyle V+ (which I guess you call Lifestyle2) and Mystyle? Or is that...
In Australia at least, Harmony and Clarity both have long and short versions. I have all 4 combinations.
And in Australia, MyStyle V+ has just replaced MyStyle, have a few on order so shall see how...
It's chromatic aberration. Polycarb lenses?
Hi Samantha, how are you?
Still deciding here myself too.

But it uses advanced nanotechnology! I think that's something to do with the crystal that built Superman's Fortress of Solitude. But hey I'm looking forward to trying it. Bet we won't get it in Oz...
The patients monocular PD is different for every frame they put on. Monocular PD's need to be measured for each individual frame. The total PD will of course always be the same, but the monocular...
Possibilities.
Over-minused in the distance.
Add power too low
Fitting heights too low.
Fitting corridor too long.
And from experience, always be wary fitting a low myope with progressives,...
Well actually, I normally use a pupillometer to ensure accurate total PD. Don't trust it for monocular PD's because once a frame is on, the frame may not sit central and hence the pupillometer...
