Thanks for posting that. Unfortunately there's now a market to block blue light and softly taking back all the claims to protect eyes from it won't take back people's memories.

Wow, unfortunately not beyond the imagination of bull****
I have nothing to offer but skepticism. Please someone, stop promoting blue light as dangerous. It's all dangerous if you want it to be.
Don't get California started on requiring a warning that...
You funny Jeff. Making sense doesn't explain it to anyone else. But sense is a good word for your experience.
Is there a standard format for a white paper on a lens design? Maybe not. Maybe I'm getting somewhere with this. What are the criteria? Or what are the words that people use to define their lens?
...
I see a few people here who are open-minded to the topic. Thanks for replying!
Ha ha, I really could care less about it all because I'll never be satisfied :)
"Wearer trials"....that's what I'd like to see. All I see is marketing otherwise, and of course, our great success with just about all PAL designs.
I briefly looked at the 2 papers and could barely handle the youtube video sound.
All I see is a lot of variations in every lens design. Nothing jumps out as a much of a leader in all categories....
I get that. We can sell the cheapest PAL to most/many people and they won't know the difference. They don't ask for literature.
That's what I thought. But then I learned more.
I get what everyone is saying. It's a spaghetti meal with spices and no one knows for sure what exactly is in it but you know how to wrap your spoon or fork around it to consume it. Just thought I'd...
I probably would guess that the unbiased opinion doesn't have any case studies, just optical data to make assumptions from.
What is there to believe then?
Well, aspheric is not a new concept
I believe that. How is any of it confirmed though?
I think an avid reader might believe that but what's the difference in a +1.75 OTC vs +1.75 from a lab? I know pd's might be different and not sure about sustained reading for many people for over 2...
I'm an OD.
I only know what I read and have experienced so never ever call me an expert in anything.
This isn't a question about selling more or making more money.
When I read in my trade...
Sounds like a great reason
I just asked the lab to send me some because a magnet fell out of the Rx. I looked up MR290 and it says it's a cyanoacrylate adhesive which sounds curiously similar to "superglue." Is it different?...
Thanks for everyone's comments. I heated the bridge quite a bit and thought I might overdo it.
I don't know what the BC was but I'm going to guess it was pretty low (aspheric -5.50 poly). As an...
If a zyl frame has to be heated until it's really rubbery and popping in the the lens makes the temples splay out significantly, would you say the lens should have been cut down more? Besides having...
The IOT design I have has an eye on it. Can IOT designs have different markings from different labs...or can labs put their own markings on them?
Thanks to all who responded. I have Varilux S lenses and not exactly ecstatic about it's price for private pays or (a lot of the other "premium" brands). Finding out about IOT here has helped me...
I was looking at the pdf's on IOT's website and asking a lab which one they use. Apparently that lab picked the one they thought would work best for their house brand. This lab has a basic, pro and a...
