+9.75 RD22 in a 66ED frame. Don’t blame the lab if they reject the order.
Call the lab first to check blank size and availability.
And…..you originally sold this in a PAL with a +3.75 add that turned into a non adapt.

Yikes. Not sure if this was the case, but it sure would be nice of these chain and big box opticals provided some more in depth training and provided at least a little education on optics and how lenses are made. I have a friend who was hired at a certain big box discount store's optical with no prior experience and was given bare bones training and then left to work as the only optician - no other coworkers. At the low wages they pay, you can pretty much guarantee the salespeople are not going to seek out any more training or education on their own. This kind of thing is the result!

I think IOT’s new Shape-rendered digital blending allows for formally style/Rx mismatches like this example. I have personally used both plus and minus higher Rxs with terrific results.

One thing I have learned just in life overall is sometimes you just have to say no. A lot of opticians are afraid to say no. I would make sure IF the lab does make them that the optician in question has to dispense them.Quote:

The other day I, a former surfacing lab manager, sold a FT polar lens to fit in the patient's own frame- the Oakley SplitShot... which has a 64 eye and 71 ED.
What was I thinking?? I would need over an 80 PD for that to make cut out... *sigh I had to take full blame when the lab called to tell us it wouldn't make cut out. Thankfully, he had another frame he was willing to use so we saved the sale, only lost some time, but he was really cool about it. I think I was more upset than he was!
If I would have been in my right mind, I would have had no problem telling him the issue- I simply didn't think of it. Apparently a year out of the biz was enough to throw me off my game!
