Optician/Medical technician/Administrative assistant (San Diego, CA)
Private Optometric practice is looking for 2 PT/FT Optician/Medical Technician/Front Office administrative assistants, who possess strong customer service skills with a positive aptitude to work in the optical industry. Previous experience is preferred, but we are willing to cross-train the right candidate. Office is open Monday's-Saturdays 10am-6pm and is closed on Sundays and major holidays. Must be able to work some Saturdays. Long-term employment is desired.
Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
-greeting patients/customers and managing their flow through the office
-answering/managing busy phones
-scheduling and confirming appointments utilizing Windows-based software (OfficeMate)
-verifying and billing insurance plans
-assisting other staff and doctors
-pre-testing patients and performing other ancillary tests
-filing and chart management
-frame and lens selections and sales
-performing miscellaneous office duties and tasks as directed
-office cleaning and housekeeping

-a friendly, upbeat, and confident personality with excellence in communication skills, professionalism, tolerance and tact.
-a strong command of English language, including legible writing, spelling, and verbal skills
-the ability to handle busy and stressful situations calmly, to think critically, and to multi-task efficiently
-excellent typing, computer skills, and internet knowledge (a competency test may be administered)
-good personal and work references for maturity, attitude, professional attire, work stability, punctuality, and attendance
-a good sense of humor and a team player
