I have a choroidal eye melanoma in my left eye, it's in the perifery with about 3.2mm distance from the optic disc. My ophtalmologist told me it is possible to be treated with both methods at this time, but he suggested plaque brachytherapy. Never the less, he said if I choose proton therapy it will be done. My question is, which will have less side effects and preserve more of my vision ?
