    California Vision Plans

The practice owner is asking me to research vision plans offered in southern California. We currently take VSP, Eye Med, Medical Eye Services, and Superior Vision.
Does anyone have thoughts or comments, or can anyone direct me to other plans?
It would be helpful to include personal experience with plans so that I may assess them before applying.

    Thank you ahead of time!

There's United Healthcares vision planed called Spectera.
They are pretty straight forward in terms of coverages go.

Have you tried offering a patient membership program instead of taking more insurance plans?

Does Boomcloud have any successful optometry clinics using your platform or it is only dental offices?

Ask your front desk staff what insurances people call in with that you guys don't take. Look up the biggest businesses in your area, make a list of the top 10. You should have had patients/customers from these businesses, you can make sure you are in-network with all of them.

I agree with iD,UHC/Spectera would be a good one to look at. Also Regence BCBS, and maybe VBA, but I don't know about California in particular. Bigger than the vision care plans I would look at what medical plans you should be joining. Medical billing seems like the way forward for optometry clinics.

I would even consider dropping superior vision if I had to use their labs. The nightmare that was Davis Vision for one of my offices... I will never forget.

I would check out DirectOD they are the creators of the 'Vision Membership Plan' and only work with Optometry Practices.

They were also designed by a group of independent practices. They are the most widely used platform in the eye care space and have the expertise around how independent practices operate on a day to day basis.

A lot better than working with a dental platform lol...
