    getting info on ed.

HI to everyone! I live in a state where it is not mandatory to be licensed. I have been a practicing optician for 12 years with my traing coming from the army. Although there is many courses available online-none are in my area. Any one have any suggestions for me? Thanks in advance!

    Sparky,
Visit www.nao.org, Charter Oak College in CT and www.nfos.org and check out their distance degree programs.

      Where are you?

Sparky...You don't have to have an instate program to enroll out of state. (Someone correct me if I am wrong, please)

"...many courses available online, but not in my area" ? ? ? Ok, that one confuses me. No ISP?

By the way, the website for Charter Oak State College is:

Don't you need a host school to do the distance learning degree? I live in Pa. and the only available school is in pittsburgh. Does anyone know if the army's eye tech training courses are transferable to regular credits? In Pa. there are no requirements at all to work in the optical field. Most people just learn as they go. It's like an entry level proffesion here. Pretty sad---HUH?

Nope, you don't need a host school for many distance learning programs. That would kinda defeat the 'distance' thing! ;)
