AIT/Indo Maxima, Maxima Speed, Parts

Would anybody have any free advice for me regarding probing errors on an older Maxima ?
Machine starts the probing cycle, tips come together against the lens, it errors out, turns the lens a few degrees, tries again, and errors out. "Lens Diameter Too Small" or similar message.
I tried to calibrate the probe and got "E2 CCD's reading incorrect". I had a spare probe assembly, so I swapped it out, same problem. Is this an issue with the board ?

Any advice or direction appreciated.
