    AIT Super Dynamite Mark V

Work in small office, not that busy. Small amount of edging. Have used AIT Mark V. Was working OK. Now goes through roughing cycle fine but when gets to V wheel as the pattern hits micro switch it rums intermittingly. herky jerky, starts and stops. Does anybody have any advice? would appreciate.

The machine can act that way when the microswitch interrupts power to the lens drive motor. This is to control the cutting of the lens. if the lens is not cutting freely the lens pattern depresses the pad over the microswitch interrupting power to the lens drive motor. As the the grinding progresses then the lens pattern lifts enough to close the microswitch and the grinding continues. This is usually happen during the rough grind cycle. The finish grinding wheel may be dull and not cutting freely. This may be the cause of your problem. I have not worked on an AIT machine in years.
