    Multicoated lens

Hi everyone, anyone can give(or name) me some good books where I can find the theories and principles of multicoated lens. Like a book which will be able to cite how much percentage of each coating (e.g. Hardcoat, AR, etc). Thanks you in advance! 😊

You better ask the application equipment suppliers for basic formulas, anybody who developed some formulas will keep them top secret.

        Hi vyking,

A good book is Angus Macleod's 'Thin-Film Optical Filters'

You will need a good background in Mathematics and Physics however.

        Best Regards,

        Falstaff

Multicoated lens, does it differ brand to brand?

if you want to play with the multicoat theory you can find this online https://www.filmetrics.com/reflectance-calculator
it's much simpler than the software we actually use to develop new coating but it works. Of course we must have some theoretical bases to use it correctly and not necessarily a coating that looks "beautiful" also has good mechanical performance
