Pre-Cast Reverse Slab Off

Has anybody here had luck using the reverse slab off lenses from Younger?

I've heard things about their first and second generation lenses, but are they better now?

Any help would be appreciated.

I've fit a few in the past, none recently due to the cr39 only material availability. I don't remember any optical problems. I do not surface or finish, but I do keep in close communication with the lab managers, and I don't remember any concerns with fabrication issues.

It's important to note that the slab-line is on the front of the most plus, least minus lens, where a custom slab is on the back of the most minus, least plus lens.

The seg is also placed in geo center so it can be used as an R or L lens. Sometimes problematic with cut out in large frames. Also, because of it being a front slab as Robert points out, it will tend to be a bit thicker than a traditional, custom grind backside, highest minus lens slabbed. Haven't used one since probably the 80's and stopped using them soon after since there were little financial difference the lab charged me for them over custom grinders.

I have used these lenses with great success many times. We have a surface lab and they are a very cost effective way fix the imbalance. Just remember you will use this on the lens with the most plus power in the vertical meridian.
