Vista angle in the aphakic??

Has anyone heard of "vista angle" with regards to aphakia........and if so can you shed some light on the topic....Thanks, Mullo

Doesn't ring any bells, but it may refer to the field of view through a spectacle lens or something along those lines. (The high plus power of a cataract lens results in a severely restricted field of view.)

Acording to Dictionary of Ophtalmic Optics , "Vista" = trade name for a computer-driven , image-magnification system used by patients with major visual impairment.
I did not find anything listed about " vista angle ".

True Vista bifocal is an IOL; perhaps it has something to do with the lens? There is also a Vista topography system.

Haven't found anything myself on the subject......googled it and checked some text books to no avail....figured it had to do with scotoma and degree or angle .........Thanks for checking and your responses.

Haven't looked it up but I suspect it means field of view. Aphakes have only a very limited field of view. the ring socotoma ventures in. Do not confuse aphakes with pseudo-phakes. Aphakes have a much larger "vista" in contact lenses.

Seems to me one of the early panavision movie competitors was known a Vista-vision. We have a lot of streets here called Buena-Vista, Alta-Vista, etc. Good View and High view respectively.

Vista means "view" or "extended view," so I'm sticking to my original guess, which is that the author was referring to the field of view through a cataract lens. ;)
