    When the lens is uncut nothing happens from the cutting machines. But when it's cut then the guys in the lens cutting use a rolling stone to smooth the edges.

    BTW Using alcohol to clean the lens before dipping seems to help a bit.

      It would not but please note that I spoke of surface also. This would include generator coolant, deblocking tanks. polish. you can not let anything dry on a lens.
      BTW distilled water is no longer distilled once the tint is added. Some hardness is needed for a good covalent bond between the lens and tint molecule.
