    Crizal Natural Look

New Crizal AR with little to no reflex color about to launch. Didn't we try this before when AR for eyeglasses was first available?? Dumb people complained it wasn't on the lens because it couldn't be seen.

"CRIZAL®’S BEST PERFORMANCE AGAINST DISTRACTING LIGHT" is a tag line being used. Clear as mud per their usual marketing nonsense.

My lab rep brought this up the other day but I've yet to see a sample in person. I'm assuming this is different from the "Achromatic AR" Shamir claims for their "Glacier Sun".

It will be a tough sell unless you can demonstrate it’s presence.

My guess is these were made to go with the transitions color touch. I can see the benefit of having an AR with a reflux that doesn't alter the aesthetics of the lens when you're about to launch a line of fashion/style focused lenses.

Considering Hoya has their Meiryo coating, Tokai has their NRC (the very simply named Non-Reflective Coat), and both of these are being marketed specifically for less visible reflections and making the frame socket look like there's no lens in it when viewed straight ahead, maybe this Natural Look is the Crizal equivalent.

Have fitted a couple pairs of Hoya Sensity with the Meiryo coating, when activated it almost looks nicely like front surface uncoated tinted lenses.

These lenses we have run many through our system here and have had great response. I recommend the Hoya lens over the Essilor any day -- we have a great independent lab to order through too if you want mor einfo send me a pm.

To me, Hoya's Super Meiryo EX+4 looks almost identical to Sapphire HR.

Agreed, they're generally harder to tell apart if at all, though I notice some Hoya lenses with Meiryo coating seem to have a shade more base colour and/or a milkier AR reflex than their Essilor counterparts with Sapphire coating.

I saw this pop up on the Davis formulary today and had a patient get a silhouette rimless, so I decided to try the Natural Look on him. My Logic is having a super-low reflectance AR would complement the rimless/invisible nature of the silhouette. I'll let you know how it looks when the job comes in.
