I was recently surfing websites and saw a company selling Maybach frames for $2700. My jaw hit the floor for a frame that doesn't look any different than some of the stuff on my board selling for way less. If anyone sells high end product what is the secret in getting that customer to pull the trigger on a sale that could potentially be over 3k?

well its about the name, Maybach makes a model of the Mercedes, luxury clothes, designer pens, you're paying for the status, for "handcrafted in germany". same as people who can sell other designer frames, while only a fraction of the cost, we sell Silhouettes between $320-$400 a frame, in a semi small MT town you'd be surprised how many people will spend the money, people hear "made in Austria, oh and fun fact! NASA uses these frames!" they'll break out their wallets

I like to watch fashion videos where the camera person stops people on the street and interviews them and has them show off their outfits. I have notices a LOT of people wearing these Balenciaga sunglasses that look VERY much like Oakleys. Silver plastic with the wrap and library temples. Very 90s/2000s Oakley. Oakleys are seen as "douchey" (for lack of a better term) but the Balenciaga ones are prestige and high fashion.
These are the Balenciaga's in question:
Honestly, a lot of luxury brands, like Chanel and Louis Vuitton, are slipping in quality due to overseas production, so you really are just paying for the name. It would be awesome if people got into independent optical brands that make high quality frames like American Optical or Tom Davies. Then you're actually getting something high end for your money, maybe just not as prestigious.:spin:Krystle:spin:

To sell luxury you need to be located in a luxury location, area’s that cater to the high end clientele. Rodeo Ave., Palm Springs, the Venetian, ect. Theirs one in most large or vacation cities across the world. It’s another niche like value or mid range or even internet. There’s a market for everything.

I've sold Maybach and other lines like it. Oddly enough, purchases like these are usually just some rich person that had a wild idea to go luxury-eyewear shopping that day. There's no sweating the price on their end. On your end, the best you can do is look sharp and know the materials of the frame (14K vs 24K horns, woods, yada yada).
After you've sold it and you got a decent commission, now it's time to enjoy the wonderful world of adjusting and servicing these things. IT. SUCKS. If it's horn or wood, most of the time they will break. And when they do break you gotta send it to the company where they will wait for forever. OR, even more fun, they come back telling you that the repair will be $1000. Some people don't care, others are angry over the principal.
Oh and byyyyyy the way! People are trying to steal this stuff ALL OF THE TIME! Like, three times a week somebody would come in and try to finesse your stock.
