    Hello,
    Has anybody got any idea how to remove a mirror on a set of 1.67 D28 lenses ,+10s.... yea big mistake he looks like a bug!

    Send the lenses to the lab that provided the mirror removal is the same process as stripping an AR coating.

      Thanks for the reply! unfortunately the agent is in the UK but not the lab they would just say reorder ,
      I think my wholesaler sells the acid for that ,nasty stuff ,might give him a ring

        My wholesaler no longer stocks the acid to strip ar anyone know what acid is used? This is to remove a mirror coat

          you must use 2% hydrofluoric acid (diluted in water), be careful, the acid is very dangerous and must be handled with all the safety equipment and under a fume hood (you can find all the information online). Furthermore, the HF also removes the hard coat layer, so it is not recommended to remove AR/mirrow because it leaves the high index lens without protection. I do these things but in an equipped chemical laboratory.

            The lab won't simply remake the lenses as a product non-adapt?
