Best lenses for a ships Captain

I have a ships captain that needs to be able to see the digital devices on the bridge and also keep an eye out for smaller vessels on the water. What would you recommend?

How far away are the digital devices when they're looking at them and is viewing them effected by polarization? A polarized lens would be good during the daytime when you have a lot of sun reflecting off the water but not if it will interfere with the instruments. You could try the Xtractiv Polarized transitions if he needs to wear them at night and doesn't want multiple pairs.

On a lake or river with little wave action, all to the good; on the ocean with the waves producing constantly changing angles and facets, polarization can produce a glitter effect that can be disconcerting and render object spotting more difficult.

Are the digital screens LCD? Sometimes those are hard to see through a polarized lens.

Whatever lens you make for the captain, make sure you use a blue tint (20-40%) and roll the edges. The blue makes the contrast of the waves against the horizon easier to see. And the roll without polish helps keep unwated sunlight out of the peripheral vision.

Oh yeah. The blue roll is critical.
