    Writers wanted for ECP Magazine

EyeCare Professional Magazine is looking for writers from any optical background to contribute to our monthly publication.

Specific areas of need include Lens and Equipment articles, but we are open to any ideas and suggestions. Many OptiBoard regulars contribute and we would love to publish more insight from the Industry's best and brightest.

For anyone not familiar with the magazine, go to www.ecpmag.com to see the entire editorial content of each issue. Writers are compensated financially for their time.

Please email editor@ecmpag.com if you are interested.

    Have you asked Daniel Pinkwater?

(Sorry for some reason I'm in a mischievous mood this morning):)

No! Really! What better way than an interview or an article w/by the consumer that we are struggling to retain.

Alan, since you're on a first name basis with "Dan", why don't you ask him?

I think it would be a great guest commentary.

    Great idea Unk!

That's the guy who did the NPR piece right, that would make for a perfect article. Here are some questions that would be great to ask?

What value do you think an optician provides to the purchase of eyewear?
What would make you more likely to shop a brick and mortar over an internet outlet?

I wonder if Mr. Pinkwater himself would like to be a guest writer. Wouldn't it be ironic if he refused because the renumeration wasn't enough.

    What say you Optiboarders?

Would that be feasible ICare ECP?

This is a great magazine to write for. Jeff is great about editing and doesn't edit your work into oblivion. I really have a lot of fun writing for ECP. It's so cool to see what you write in print for a national magazine, so anyone thinking about writing should really go for it.

    Aw, Fezz, quit holding back!:bbg:

Maybe I'll think about an article and write one, it's been 40 years since I took Journalism.

    Hi Jeff,

A more succinct answer, without editorializing: yes. If you want to know what Fezz' comment was about, check out this conversation:

I think an article from him might be interesting . . .

I read and enjoy ECP, but I must admit I'd appreciate some more editing. I won't mention a specific instance of a poorly-edited article because the people who write for ECP are either people I have met, people I respect, or both. I will say, however, that the editor of ECP would do well to be a bit more heavy-handed with the red pen.

You know what they say Paul, sh*t or get off the pot. I would enjoy seeing something you write in the magazine and it would be nice to see your point of view.
