It's a strange thing, but went to www.classmates.com last week, got an e-mail from a lady I went to HS with, graduated '64, and it turns out she has lived about 10 miles from us for the last 30 years, do others have similar experiences; also found an old friend that I was in the Navy with, in Ct. now, so I referred her to friend in Hartford for glasses; Skip, be nice to her...
I learned a lesson thae hard way about classmates.com.
Never put you name in it if you don't want old girlfriends looking you up!
I have found several friends on-line from long ago (don't call us old friends: we're kinda sensitive about that now that we're reached the 5th decade) and another place I have found them is thru www.military-brats.com (which is free, kinda like Optiboard....supported by the generosity of the users, and sale of "store" items). If you (or someone you know) was raised in the military, let them know about this board. It's not a chat board, but is a great resource. It led me to the website of one school I attended overseas which was permanently closed (ash from volcano) and they have almost 50 years of yearbooks accessible online!
The sad thing is sometimes you read about a favorite classmate who has passed away, and you might not have even known they were ill.
