    Interesting Rumor

I have recently started hearing that Luxotica is taking an interest in possibly buying VSP.

    Anybody else hear this?

    Likely true

But many even inside the organization doubt it would pass FTC and SEC hearings.

Where there's a will there is a way ;) If Lux wants it Lux will get it.

    Continuing rumor!!!!

Interesting this was discussed 3-4 months ago.
A rumor just passed through my office yesterday that VSP & Wal-Mart are considering a partnership!!! I wonder where Lux fits into that picture?
I also wonder what the OAA thinks of VSP now considering violating their own policy of not allowing participation by non MD or OD offices?
I guess that would mean all the private optician owned dispenseries can sign up for VSP?

    Wave

Speaking of VSP since we are on the subject...let them have them!!! We take it and it is a horrible headache. I think it is horrible figuring out the coding. It is the worst one. The less I have to do it the better I say. I don't like doing insurance anyway but that one really takes the cake.

    I heard it...

I heard that. From what i heard they are serious. I also heard that Lux is closing a deal with a major spectacle lens and contact lens company.

    Filing for VSP

    Hi Stephanie,

I saw your filing post for VSP. I had the pleasure in the past of filing VSP with the forms.

We use a computer at work that is on DSL and submit all our lab jobs and exam only to VSP by computer. This saves time and I can also retrieve any authorizations through the internet. It is the only way to go. Our office also uses the frightful computer for EYEMED.

    Hope this helps,
    Dale:)

Good, let 'em buy it. Maybe it will fainlly be the stake through the heart of the Evil Empire. They can't even manage their ECPA people that they sucked into Eyemed.

As far as a lens company is concerned, they been trying to do that ever since they bought Lenscrafters. They tried to by Sola, AO even Silor USA.

I wish thry would spend money on getting and keeping decent frame reps.
