Great Lakes Eye Care of St. Joseph, Michigan is a busy ophthalmology practice with 8 MD's and 2 OD's, along with 3 locations and 2 optical locations, and a newly opened surgical center. We take pride in our great work environment, and we continue to grow each year with new patients, and always adding on of additional staff. We are now hiring for a full time position for an experienced optician. The applicant must have a pleasant and caring personality; be team and detail oriented, and very self motivated. Strong communication skills are a must.

No evenings or holiday hours. We do not accept vision insurance plans. We offer a great compensation package including PTO, 401K, and health insurance.

Duties will include, but not limited to:
+ Assist patients in eyewear selection as well as lens options and treatments, along with accurate measurement taking
+ Frame alignment, adjustments, and repairs
+ lab work, including; lens verification, blocking and lens edging, lens mounting and final inspection.
+ Some computer skills needed
+ ABO certified, or currently pursuing accreditation
