I work in a lab that surfaces about 300 jobs/day

I've been having a lot of issues with the front side of the KBCO lenses having pits in them. I have the "quality" standards from them and they actually allow these defects to be around the center of the lens. Our quality standards are more strict than that. No pit front side or back anywhere on the finished lens. I'm rejecting around 10% (30/day)of what we produce daily because of this.

KBCO is the only supplier that we can use, as I'm told by my bosses. Availability, I believe, is the reason.

Anyone else have this issue? Also, is there a pre-inspection method we can use to catch them before they are surfaced. It needs to be a quick but accurate method.

Thanks
