I have a patient whom is rather sensitive to light, and has an eye that is being suppressed. Minus the prognosis of the patient, I am trying to find something that will help the patient see better, and read longer, indoors and around florescent lighting. The RX is a simple single vision, nothing higher than a +3.5 and no prisms. Prisms have been tried in the past to no avail, so the doctor’s gave up on them.
Previously, I have placed the patient in slightly yellow tinted glasses with a purecoat AR, in Trivex. It worked relatively well, but the patient still has issues. I asked the patient to try wearing polarized sunglasses, that I previously made, and the patient noticed an increase in the length of reading through the day. Darkening the tint further, isn’t an option for the patient. The problem is they don’t want to wear sunglasses to work, and I’m stumped on what to do.
Any suggestions?
