Just checked the OAA website (www.oaa.org) and see that the National Optician's Convention will be held in conjunction with the POF conference in Ft. Lauderdale, Nov 11-13.
Should be a great time with great people and outstanding education!

Shwing,
Aren't you going to be there for the proposed group meeting? I am trying to connect flights for Thursday to Sunday. Hope to see you there.
I'm flying in Thurs. afternoon through Sun. a.m. Need LOTS of CE to maintain my FL license. Also want to attend OAA functions. Most of all, it'll be good to see everyone! Have ya'll ever been to the POF show & Marriott Fort Lauderdale Marina? Beautiful venue! The Vision Preview rate of $116 a night is practically a steal...if I booked the same hotel online on Expedia it would cost $219 for one night at $249 for the other two nights! You can get info and book on www.pof.org.

In spite of Hurricane Wilma, the OAA/POF Vision Preview is still on. The convention center sustained some damage, not serious. Some rooms at the Marriott sustained damage, but the hotel will notify individuals who've registered if there's a problem with their room and find an alternative for them. Electricity is back up; the airports are open and running scheduled flights, and the roads are open. Any questions, contact the OAA or POF. See you there.
