Please don't think I'm trying to be dismissive but from past posts on this subject- most if not everyone here will tell you to hold a going out of business sale- auction everything left and then just close the store.
Hi FSTAB. Where is your store located in TX?... if you don't mind me asking.
Good answer uncle.
Well my friend, my optical store is located in far north dallas that I opened 8 years ago.
Uncle's right. I just tried to give a very profitable office away, and couldn't . I sold the equipment off, took my $9200, and walked away. Get what you can out of it while it's running, as you can't plan on anything after that. Invest wisely while your making it.
On the other hand, if you're looking to merge to increase sales, there's a good chance that it's not worth much (to anyone else) anyway.
Have an auction.

I suppose you could guesstimate what you might make in an auction for equipment and displays and whats left of inventory (that you haven't sold off in a going out of business sale to the public)add $5000 dollars to that amount and ask that for the purchase of the business while it is still operating. The key in that guesstimation is what you think you may ACTUALLY get for the auctioned items NOT what you think they are worth or what you paid for them. An entrepreneur might snatch it up and you can walk away with a little more moolah.
