:) Is any one familiar with this group? We received a package from them in the mail today. In brief overview I thought it is similar to NVA. The company hails from Phoenix, AZ.

Bev -
We just signed up for Avesis. They have a couple different levels of frame benefits and cover basic lenses. Co-pay varies from plan to plan.
Nothing to make me think that this is the greatest plan but then nothing to make me go screaming either. Structure wise, it reminds me of Spectera.
We just saw our first Avesis member so the jury is still out on this plan. Let me know if you need any specific info.
Bill
If it's structured like Spectera, do an about face and run, screaming into the night...
I am curious what businesses have this plan as there was literature to that effect in the envelope.
Bev,
It wasn't clear to me from your last post whether Avesis had provided you with a client list for your area, or you were inquiring from the OptiBoard viewers?
In any case, my answer is the same...what companies in your area have purchased coverage through Avesis? What is the probability that you will be able to attract those patients?
I've heard of Avesis, but they are not big in my area. My question would be...how is their support for your office? What is the service like when you and your patient have a question about the plan?
First of all Avevis is not like spectera, secondly very prompt in answering the phone to get your approval number, comparetively speaking good benefits for the patients, Avevis is the eyecare plan for all the wellpath card carriers, they have wellpath for all else and avevis for eyecare. we use them all the time. never had a problem
No client list was provided in the sign up package. The package arrived in the mail with no request by us to take a look at.As I have never heard of this plan I am curious as to whether other (optiboarders)have enrolled, what are the pro's and cons?
We only recently began taking third party for our optometric/optical department.
