    Artist working with stone

    Hi all;

    I have a client that enjoys stone craving as a hobby. He has been using a fit over shield made of some type of poly for safety.
    He is wanting to get a poly rx safety glasses but is concerned that the poly rx will attract the stone dust like his fit overs do.

    Is rx poly less static prone than the shields?

    The new teflon A/R promotes its self as anti static , any comment?

    any heip would be welcomed.

    Thanks, haliopt in Haliburton

    Static is environmental. There is little that can be done to totally illiminate it. Even the teflon coats will still attract dust. In your clients line of hobby, he is generating dust that is airborne, and to which there will be no reprieve, what goes up, must come down, and it will settle on anything and everything. He is better off wearing the shields. Its one thing to ruin a $20 pair of sheilds than a $200 pair of rx safety's

    Stone Dust

    Stone dust on the lenses or shield is the least of this guys problems. His repeated inhalation of this stuff will cause grevious consequences.

    He should wear a proper respirator and a full face shield.
