What can you tell me about Italee?

I received a call from a young lady asking if I carried a line called Italee. I am unfamiliar with this company and would like to know how to access them. They have an extremely artistic website but I couldn't find out about dealers. If you can provide any info I would appreciate it.

Harry, they produce the 2.5 line, which Nautica copied. It is an extremely lightweight surgical plastic 3 piece from Sweden, I believe. Also, they produce the Kazuo Kawasaki line, another drill mount with 3 or 4 styles of temples and bridges but the difference is with the 150 + lens designs.

They are actually Lab Italee from LA, I believe. They do all the work, you fax in your orders.

    Harry,

I did a product close up on one of their collections and they have more. They are very cool. Very unique. Call them and find out a rep in your area.

    Where to find it:

    Italee Optics, INC
    2641 W. Olympic Blvd.
    Los Angeles, CA 90006 USA
    800-948-2533

    Hope this helps.

Italee is a lab and frame distributing company.
They do surfase and edge jobs including Zeiss AR.
The jobs are the best i ever seen on 3PM frames.
They are overpriced, dont speak English and the worst company to do any unusual job.
They distribute Kazuo Kawasaki titanium 3Pm frames
    2.5 plastic 3PM
    SwissFlex Plastic 3PM
Click interchangable chassies plastic 3PM frames.
Retail prices for the frames from 200-400
    customer servise
BTW they have the worst customer service.

My optician stopped carrying the 2.5 Eyephorics line from Italee and started carrying the very similar T2 line from a company called "The Lens Work" instead. I got the impression they switched because of bad experiences working with Italee.

I know this is an old thread but I just thought I'd put in a plug for The Lens Work since they don't seem to be well known. I am wearing my T2s right now & love them. :)

Do they only offer exclusive distributorship or is this just a local deal that the only dealer in the area has with them?

I will second what Lenny said. Good luck getting the rep to stop in. I spoke to them about 2 years ago. The rep would only stop if I intended to buy deep into each line(Minimum 50 pieces or something like that ) and he could "only" come in the third wednesday seven months from now at 2:35 pm and could only stay for 8 minutes because his time was so valuable, blah, blah, blah. Needless to say, I do not carry the product.
    Good Luck!

The shop I work at sells several italee lines. Like has been stated, their products are high quality, and their work is very good. Unless you need anything out of the usual, in which case problems can arise. And then you have to deal with their customer service... It IS possible to get something done with their CS, it just takes being very clear about what you need. And they do give us grief from time to time about ALIZE warranties. But, as I said, their glasses are stellar.

Just returned from Essilor's National Sales Meeting in Miami, and Italee Optical was awarded "Laboratory of the Year." I've visited their laboratory in California and was impressed with their systems and set-up.

    I worked for a guy that was a big account. . .

and he got pretty decent service from them. I also worked for a Dr that after investing about 15K in product had a hard time getting bushings from them. They finally closed his account saying that he wasn't doing enough business with them. I'd be careful. Good luck to you though!

Hi Harry, the only information that I can give you is that I used them as a lab several years ago. WOW!! Amazing work, the best that I've seen.

They provided me with excellent customer service as well. I use to speak to a person there by the name of Young. Not sure if he is still there since this was awhile ago.

If I needed a lab (at the moment I do not) I would call them first!

    Have a great day!

    Michelle

P.S. Back then they didn't believe in such a thing called "within tolerance" everything was ALWAYS perfect and exact!!!

Let me ask you a question Optixs. . .

do you work for Italee?? If you have some affiliation with them then you ought to disclose that. Now you may think $15,000.00 is no money and if you do I'll take mine in cash if you don't mind. The poor Dr I was working for sure didn't think it was no money. Now I stated that when I worked for Europtics Ira got good service from them, but he was a good size account. The poor Dr on the other hand paid his money and had his account shut off 18 months later because he could only sell a couple of pieces a month. That's not personal, but I feel it is information people have a right to know.

I don't know who you are and to be honest I don't really care, but your don't worry, be happy approach to business tells me you aren't an owner. Please PM me and I'll be happy to supply you with the address to send me the no money! Oh yeah, and have a nice day!

    Packaging is verrrry important!

I woud rather pay 50 cents less and get a job in the brown bag than with a blue bow on it!

    Optixs!

    You are wrong!
You should support ANY acount that bought Your frames so they CAN sell them and deliver them to the customer!
I also see a very easy solution: Would you like to get ALL those frames back?

    Just my 2 cents.
