    Hi Harry,

Marketing constantly has me on the ropes!...but they are a great group to work with....can't complain a bit about them.

Yes $25k is a lot of nickels...some kind of healthy change!

Here is the scoop on getting started with the Transitions®Lens Healthy Change Sweepstakes.

Step 1: Enroll in the Promotion.
To enroll in the sweepstakes promotion, simply call one of the following asap...clock started February 1 and ends September 30th.

Your Platinum Elite STAR Lab representative.

    Your Lens Manufacturer of choice

    Transitions Optical Customer Service (800.848.1506)

    Transitions Optical Solutions Team Member.

    Step 2: Get Smart!

Participation in the Transitions Healthy Change Sweepstakes promotion requires the completion of Transitions specified education component (eliglble for CE credits where applicable).
There are two ways to get your training:

a: When you enroll in the promotion, ask to schedule a personal education session for you and your practice.

    b. Or take the Transitions Optical self administered education course found in the March 2004 issue of Review of Optometry.

Step 3: Use Your Sweepstakes Kit and start winning!

ECP's should enroll very soon because we will be sending patients your way. Throughout 2004 your traffic will pick up because of awareness from our heavy wave of Transitions commercials (starting February 23rd) and full color multi page consumer magazine inserts promoting the Transitions Healthy Change Sweepstakes.

ECP's and patients (any consumer over 18) are eligible for $25K Grand Prizes, Special Prizes of AMEX $100 and $50 Gift Cards and Instant Prizes of $25 and $10 AMEX gift cards

How is this for a promotion to bring in spring??

As a consumer I have to vent. A friend told me about this sweepstakes, so, needing new glasses anyway I decided to check it out. My friend thought I had to go to Sears Optical, so I found the nearest Sears Optical I could find, 100 miles away at the Fayetteville, Ark. mall.

I called before I left to make sure they were partipating in the sweepstakes and that they had game pieces/official entry forms. The guy I spoke to said he did so I drove 100 miles to get there. I asked what time he closed because I said I would like to come pick one up.

When I got there and said I was interested in a game piece/official entry form for the "Transitions®Lens Healthy Change Sweepstakes", the guy told me it was only for people who complete a purchase of eyeglasses. I asked him if you _had_ to buy something to enter and he said, "Yes, after you buy eyeglasses they give a form that we give to you."

I asked him if he any copy of the offical rules I could look at because I understood that no purchase was necessary, but that I only heard about this promotion from a friend so I wasn't sure. He laughed at me and said "We aren't going to give those forms out to just anybody!".

At that point I wasn't interested in purchasing any eyeglasses from this fellow so I turned around and drove 100 miles back home.

    An alienated potential customer,

P.S. After just getting back I looked online some more and found the Transitions customer information number. Unfortunately I could find no official rules for the sweepstakes on the http://www.transitions.com website. I called to find out if the guy was correct, that you had to buy eyeglasses to enter the sweepstakes. The woman was very nice and very helpful, although I was offended she told me twice I was crazy for driving so far. An apology would have been nice.

Now that I understand there is a participating dealer in the town I work and that I don't have to purchase anything, I'm still thinking about getting an entry form. Not sure though because I'm kinda burnt out on this promotion. Will probably purchase from Lenscrafter's again.
