SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. – Michael B. Brown has joined Gerber Coburn as an Area Sales Manager with special focus on consumable products.

He reports directly to Clement Patry, executive sales director, and will coordinate with Gerber’s existing sales representatives to oversee the sales management activities associated with the company’s broad consumable line. His territory covers the southern and mid-western sections of the United States.
“Mike is responsible for all aspects of selling new and existing consumables into wholesale laboratories,” said Patry, “as well as ancillary products. But more importantly, he will directly interface with new and existing customers to further expand the depth and reach of our ‘Voice of the Customer’ process.”

In announcing Brown’s appointment, Patry noted that he brings a wealth of sales management experience to Gerber Coburn. Prior to joining Gerber, Brown served as a lens salesman for Signet Armorlite, San Marcos, CA, and as the optical manager for Salem Distributing, Inc., Winston-Salem, NC. Previously, he spent over 20 years with Semi-Tech, Garland, TX in a variety of high-profile positions, including vice president of sales. In 2003 Brown was awarded ‘Man of the Year’ by the Midwest Optical Laboratory Association Board of Directors for his dedication and service to the ophthalmic industry.

“We’re thrilled that Mike has joined Gerber Coburn,” Patry stated. His extensive ophthalmic processing knowledge, business savvy, and customer affiliations fit nicely with our strategies, and make him an extremely valuable addition to our team. Brown along with Mike Everhart who joined the company in 2002 will be instrumental in bringing outstanding products and services to our customers.”
